Moved all over Washington State when I was young with my parents. I'm 100 percent Holland Dutch. When I was 11 we moved to Minnesota where I met my late husband. We married moved to Washington and I've been here ever since. I have been down into Mexico, up to Alaska, in most of the lower 48 and Canada. I've traveled by car, plane, bus, and train.

RETIRED BUT NOT TIRED

I retired five years ago to begin a different life style, which no longer included a husband. My children are all grown and live on their own.

I have been a certified City Clerk, A full Charge Bookkeeper, an office manager, volunteered for 8 years as a EMT, (Emergency Medical Technician). I volunteer at the local food bank  one afternoon a week. I teach an adult sunday school class at my church and have a group that I entertain from my church on Wednesday evenings. Everyone brings some food and I bake fresh rolls. Everyone seems to enjoy it. We pray and converse, just have a great time.

I love to oil paint, garden, play with my two cats and my large Great Dane, who walks me to keep me in shape. She's in great shape. I have a herb garden and love to cook and create culinary delights, just make them up as I go. Also love to write poetry. Will probably post some on here.

I take care of and live in my own home and take care of my yard which includes mowing the lawn with an electric mower. That is great. I can have it done in 45 minutes. I also like to create other things. I built two arches out of 1 1/2 inch PVC ,thats plastic pipe. It was really fun and so easy.

My brother helped me learn how to use a rechargeable drill. That's fun too. Guess I should have been a carpenter. I have three living children and one who has passed on. My children sometimes think I'm totally nuts but they love me anyway.

I'm planning to publish some of my poetry and perhaps write a novel based on real life.
