"Funeral" because of my work. "Chick" because of my personality. I have the privilege to companion broken hearts while they grieve. I feel honored that they would trust me with their heart. I love my work. At the same time, I am a good-hearted, fun-loving person. I enjoy family and friends, a good joke, a glass of wine and an occasional trip to the salon. So, I'm an undertaker, yes, a funeral director, who got tired of hearing the same service over and over and over again. And now I write and create personalized services for folks who want to know 'who' the service is about. (Novel idea, right?) I actually talk about why everyone is in the room. It's all about relationship. Even for those who are just there to support someone else; they'll leave knowing who the service was for and why everyone just had to be there. Married for the second time to the Marlboro Man. We have three sons between us, but not between us, if you get my drift. Summer of 2007 brought us our first grandbaby. He's a redheaded wonder.

I support Veterans selling poppies, Deborah Heart & Lung Hospital, Cancer Research and pregnancy centers; but the bulk of my support goes to family and friends who need a helping hand.
