More about me

I'm living in the outskirts of Memphis with my husband, a Navy Captain, and our sweet beagle Molly.  We have two married sons with families - one residing in NYC and another soon to relocate to Denver.  Two grandsons are local, and we have two granddaughters in NY (and a grandson due soon!).  That's about it for immediate family.  My husband is terrific, loves his job helping sailors and works hard at his profession as well as here at home.  A Navy brat, I was born in WA, but grew up primarily in southern California.

We've been fortunate to have lived and traveled across our country many times over.  We have also resided in Japan and Guam and have enjoyed travel in Europe.  I truly believe that the world is a much smaller place than depicted on my well-worn atlas.  After all, anything eaten one bite at a time is consumable, don't they say?  Moreover, in terms of culture, as different as we may appear to be on the surface, we're not that much different overall.

 In summation, my interests lie in getting to know people, researching other cultures, reading mystery books (I'm running out of bookcase room!), lovely gardens, and genealogy.  I've just retired and am happily adjusting to the ability to stay up late reading and sleeping in when I want to.  Life is good!
