More about me

I'm 56 years old. Married to the same guy now for 37 years. I have 3 grown children who all live in Washington state. And I have 1 granddaughter. 

Since Mother passed away in Feb of 07, I am now updating her house for hubby an myself for our retirement. I love this house. It is just the right size. 2 bedrooms, one bath, living room, dinning room and kitchen. Without having kids anymore the second bedroom is now a place for me to jump on the computer, or crochet or bead. I also put the TV in this bedroom because it's a bit quieter. 

 I do traditional beadwork and crochet. Hopefully, now I can get back to getting out to do shows and art walks with my beadwork and crochet. Of course, as soon as the house if finished!! 

I did have the interior painted. First time someone else has ever done the painting. Now that was intresting. I will be replacing all the windows and having some tile work done too. 

I'm not and never have been what one would call pretty. I'm plain and tall. Guess that goes back to my peasant roots. I am half Lithuanian and half Danish. the Lithuanian peasant side won as far as how I look and size. 

I've lived in a lot of places when hubby was in the Navy. When he went to merchant ships we moved to Washington state and raised the kids where they could run and really enjoy the outside. 

After being caregiver to my Mother, we plan to stay in California as the weather is a bit better. Plus this house is "free and clear", so no worries there!

I also am kind of a loner. It was difficult making friends, then oops having to move when hubby was in the Navy. I also found that being a caregiver was worse for keeping friends. But, time to move on. Hopefully, I will make new friends and be able to keep them now.
