Places I've been
As a kid I traveled with my parents to the East coast, and as a Boy Scout I went to the Philmont scout ranch. As an adult my wife and I took the children out west to Mount Rushmore and visited several sites along the way. Also as a family we went to Florida, as a vacation again visiting zoos and historical sites along the way. I have been to Canada a handfull of times both on vacation and deployed there chasing a quality problem from my department at work.
More about me

Although my first name is Joseph, I go by my middle name of Darrel.  I am retired from Chrysler Corporation, after 34 and 1/2 years of service. Iwas married for 46 years to Beverly.  Beverly suffered a stroke and cardiac arrest nearly 13 years ago and since my retirement I have been her primary care giver, regrettably she passed away in July.  It will take some time for me to get over that. We have 2 Children, Cynthia and Scott.  Both children are successfull in their respective fields of employment and, in my estimation at least, good parents.

I like anything that involves family get togethers, and cooking which I am learning.  I seem to find the 9 wrong ways to do something before I discover the right way.  I enjoy camping, boating, fishing and working with children.  Every Tuesday I wash dishes at a neighborhood church hot meals program, which I find very rewarding.  I also enjoy reading and have to read something before going to sleep.  I have even read a matchbook, by flashlight in a tent before gong to sleep on a camping trip.  I think this may be a monkey on my back.  Recently I have started playing Euchre on the internet and I enjoy it a great deal.

I retired from Chrysler Corporation as a production foreman.  The work was challenging but the rewards of doing a good job at meeting schedules,  solving problems, and generally being appreciated by superiors, and subordinants alike was most satisfying.  I still miss the people with which I worked but I don't miss the hectic schedule.
