Two years ago I moved to Schenectady and have since become interested in antiques. So, I buy and sell antiques.  Not enough money yet but hey I have just started.    I love the theater, musicals, operas, concerts,    (our local Proctor's theatre is one of my favorite places) and enjoy walking, reading,   and going to garage/yard/estate sales and auctions.       I have made a few friends here who are seasoned "antique-ers."   I rely on them.

I am also one of those lifelong learners and language lovers.  Although I am not as proficient as I would like to be in English I am always learning a new language. I am ardently trying to master German. I have a good understanding and some proficiency,    (better at writing) in Russian, Spanish, and French.

A good meal for me is homecooked but I will try every ethnic food    in any restuarant under the sun.  A bit adventurous with food.         I love music - jazz, blues, R&B, soft rock, classical, when the rap artist "fifty cents" became known I have to admit I did enjoy his   first songs.  In keeping with my taste in food my enjoyment of  music includes any ethnic music.  Some of my favorites are     Shirley Bassey, Ella Fitzgerald, Edith Piaf, Nat King Cole, j  just to name a few. Movies...Casablanca tops them all.

About me, the caption says, well I am divorced and the mother of two grown men.  I am one of a family of ten. Can you imagine!      My ethnicity is truly cosmopolitan. It involves, spanning several countries/continents....from Spain, Scotland, West Africa then       to the Carib Indians of the Caribbean.   I wear my hair brown and have brown eyes.  I am 5' 6" and still wear heels.     About my weight, well a few extra pounds but it all depends on how much extra..doesn't it?

If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty every day,
and if you can source your own life from its presence.

I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine,
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,“Yes.”

It doesn't interest me to know where you live,
or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair,
weary and bruised to the bone,
and do what needs to be done to feed the children.

It doesn't interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire with me and not shrink back.

It doesn't interest me where or what
or with whom you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you from the inside
when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone with yourself,
and if you truly like the company
you keep in the empty moments.
