    Places I've been
Born Fukuoka, Japan (Hometown), I've spent the majority of my life in California. We lived a brief time in Ohio while my father was in the Air Force. He was from Ohio and his family still resides there. In 1996, my Mother and I went to Japan to visit her sister. This was my 1st trip back to Japan since our arrival to the U.S. in December 1952. It was exciting to see where I was born. We went to visit the hospital where I was born but just two weeks before we arrived, the old hospital had been demolished. All that remained was a pile of rubble :~( Vacations include trips to Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, West Virginia with a day trip to Washington DC, Cocoa Beach, Florida (a day at Cape Canaveral - now the Kennedy Space Center), Las Vegas, San Francisco, Monterey, Lake Tahoe and in 2006 to New Orleans to visit my dear friend Tracie and her Mom.

    About Me

    30 seconds . . not much time . . o.k. let's see

Married at 18, divorced at 26 never remarried.  No kids (just my "Charlotte" 1 1/2 yr old Shih Tzu).  I am very close to my niece's kids who I consider my "psuedo" grandchildren.  In relationship for 16 yrs that ended in 1994.  Work full time.

I am a breast cancer survivor - 5 yrs. March 2008.    Enjoy spending time with friends and family.  I belong to an online support group and have met quite a few ladies, we try to get together every year for a few days.   I have gained many very close friends through breast cancer and I am grateful for that.

I enjoy home decorating, crafting, quilting and golfing.  Although I haven't golfed since my diagnosis, I still have my clubs and hoping to someday get back out there.

    O.k. that's about it

    • I know what you mean about the fine hair. Lola's hair is fine too. The top of her back is one area that isn't really hard to keep up. It's a very little bit coarser than the rest. But it's a big deal every single day. Last summer I got tired and had her cut short. She is just growing out again. Her hair is about 6 inches now I guess, except on her legs and belly. I have her belly real short. And her legs about 3-4 inches. I love them long, but they are soooooo hard to take care of. ANd I thought Poodles were tough??

Charlotte is so white!! She looks like she would disappear in snow!! She's pretty, Nice expressive face just like Lola's. That's what made me had to have her. Her expressiveness. She was so laid back and just waited for me to see her. lol

    • Lola is 1 1/2. And yes, it is hard to keep her hair like this. I keep her belly almost shaved, because that's the worst!! You should see that dog that was visiting my nieghbor the other day!! That shih-tzu had show hair!! And her owner never really takes her to a groomer! I don't know how she does it. I have to take Lola at least every three months or so. Otherwise it gets out of hand. How is your dog? She/he's cute!
