I am a native Texan, born in McAllen and raised in Kingsville. I have only lived outside of Texas twice. I spent several years in Louisiana and Florida. For the past 13 years I have been in Brownfield; the west side of Texas.

As a child I was always begging my father to stop and let me look at the rocks. I knew that there were wonderful things to be found on the railroad tracks or on the side of the road. I haven't changed that much except that I am doing the driving so I can stop when I want. I still look at the ground when I walk and scan piles of rocks that are used in landscaping.
I dragged rocks home to line flowerbeds or decorate the front porch for many years before I was able to join a rock club. Now that I had all of these rocks, what was I suppose to do with them. Stone cutting led to silver smithing and that ignited a passion (or maybe an addiction). There is something magicial about cutting a stone and releasing the beauty inside.
