I am Elaine. I have been single a very long time, but having the time of my life!

I lived my married years in Colorado and worked for a major department store as an Interior Decorator. After my divorce, I moved to Florida to be closer to my aging parents and start a new life.

I have worked for a city government in Florida for 21 years in Administration. I can see the Gulf of Mexico from my office window, so this really is paradise. I like the job, as I get to meet locals as well as tourists, who are usually lost and stop in for directions on where to go and what to see. In addition to preparing for Council meetings, I pay the bills, conduct elections, maintain vital records, post to the city's web site, and I am the editor of the quarterly newsletter.

I am an avid dancer, and you can find me on the dance floor a few nights a week in one of the local dance clubs or studios in the area. I started 20 years ago with country line dancing, evolved into two-step and couples dancing and in the early 2000's switched to swing dancing, both East Coast Swing and West Coast Swing. In the last couple of years I switched again - this time to ballroom dancing and I love it. As a matter of fact, I am now a certified dance instructor for basic ballroom (Bronze divison) and I teach private lessons in Foxtrot, Waltz, Swing, Cha Cha, Rumba, and Tango, as well as group lessons at dance parties. So I have turned a hobby that I love into a part-time business.

However, am not one-dimensional. I joined a Boat Club even though I don't own a boat so I can enjoy the wonderful waters of sunny Florida. The club meets once a month for an outing, like a sunset picnic on a nearby island or a community service event, like participating in the Coastal Cleanup. I love the beach and the water, but prefer it in the autumn, winter and spring when the Florida sun is not so torturous.   Just sitting watching the sun set and the sand pipers chasing the waves is therapeutic and gives me a feeling of being at peace with the world.

I am an Elvis groupie. I love to watch Elvis impersonators and try to take in a few events each year, as it brings back memories of my childhood, the simpler, happier period of my life, and the major crush all us girls had on the King. It's also a great excuse to have a girls night out. His music is and always will be a part of my soul.

I am also very interested in natural cures for whatever ails us. I study a lot about using vitamins, minerals, foods, herbs, oils, and natural oitments to help keep us healthy. I buy only organic fruits and veggies and take my vitamins every day like a good girl.   However, I try not to obsess over the whole deal, so when I am out dining with friends I eat whatever is on the menue that I feel is a healthy choice.

In addition to eating right, I get up 5 mornings a week at 5 A.M. and work out for an hour to get my blood flowing and my mind in gear. This, along with the cardio workout of dancing during the week, has kept be very young looking and my mind sharp. (I have been known to date guys 10 years younger than me and they don't have a clue).

I have one daughter who lives in NJ with my grandson Jake who is the smartest kid on the face of the planet. I am full of energy and like to be busy almost all of the time. I don't relate well to couch potatoes.   My friends call me the Energizer Bunnie!

However, when I do need to re-charge my battery (and I always do), you will find me snuggling at home in front of the TV, listening to love songs, watching a chick flick, or reading a good book with a glass of my favorite wine and a bowl of popcorn. I like it even better if I can share quality time with someone special or a night of good conversation with my gal pals.

Favorite Music: I like any kind of music, but especially if it's danceable. Will listen to classical or instrumental while reading and relaxing, will do housework to rock n roll and Elvis, will dance to big band ballroom or oldies.
Favorite TV Shows: Don't watch much tv, but when I do it's FOX cable news, CSI, HGTV, and old movies.

Favorite Animals: I like cats, but I'm allergic. I like dogs but they are not practical for me because I live in a condo and I am never home. I like horses to look at, and wish I had learned to ride them.
