I live in a small rural town in Middle TN

Places I've been

I, recently, traveled to Israel with a church group, and found it to be one of the most wonderful experiences of my life! While growing up, I was an army brat and we were stationed in several foreign countries.... including Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. I've lived and traveled throughout much of the United States. Now I live in a small, rural town in TN, and I love small-town life. I like knowing my neighbors, as well as, the friendliness of a small community. There are lots of wonderful, colorful 'characters' in my hometown, and many of them are the inspiration for my whimsical artwork.

I'm planning to retire soon (Yikes!) and thought        

this would be a great place to get some inspiration!          

I was widowed after a wonderful 38 year marriage,       

and want to 'get outside the box', meet some new       

people, get a new outlook, maybe even       

a new hairdo, and have some fun.         

I'm an artist who loves to paint watercolors,         

as well as, create collages and altered art forms.          

I'm looking forward to getting some great ideas       

about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Favorite Animals

I love animals, but my favorite is the 'human' animal!

Favorite Places

Sitting on my deck in my porch swing, and watching the sun come up is my favorite place.

Favorite People

My favorite people are members of my family, my grandchildren, children, church family and friends.... but I enjoy just about everyone I come into contact with. The nice thing about living in a small town is... you know everybody, and there aren't many places I go that I don't run into somebody I know!

Favorite Quotes

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning to dance in the rain." I have no idea who wrote this, but it sure speaks to me!

Activities

I love painting with watercolors, creating collages, as well as, altered art forms. I, also, enjoy spending time with family, friends, and being involved in my church. I like entertaining, cooking (esp. southern!), wine tasting, gardening, reading, dancing, exercise, and working to make my community a better place to live in.

Favorite Charities

I'm volunteer director of a faith-based organization in my community that buys new school clothes for children-in-need. Since over 60% of the children in my community are on free and reduced lunches, this is a much-needed ministry in this area.

Favorite Music

Classical to rock and roll, and anything I can dance to.

Favorite TV Shows

I love to watch old movies, documentaries, the cooking channel, and the news. I don't watch a lot of TV because I'd rather be 'people watching'.

Favorite Movies

Some of my favorites are: 'Steel Magnolias', 'Beaches', 'Something's Gotta Give', and 'Gone With The Wind'. I guess I'm into 'chick flicks'!

Favorite Books

My favorite book is a daily devotional that belonged to my Grandmother. It was written in the 1940's and I always find a message in it that speaks to my heart. Right now I'm reading 'The Shack' by William P Young, as well as, 'Three Cups Of Tea' by Greg Mortenson.
