All over this great country of ours, although never enough time in the South, or back East. Hawaii is a favorite place, Maui - what can I say except, I'm a crazy wahine who wants to go back to a little grass shack! I've traveled to Columbia and Honduras and been all over Mexico. I hope to get to Europe some day. I have a list of dusty old museums, I would die to see

More about me

I have lived on both coasts, but always came back to the midwest. I am 51 years young. For most of my life, I was involved in the modeling business, first as a model, then as owner of several schools and agencies. I have been retired from that industry for 16 years now.  I find myself, twice widowed now. I love life, I love my dogs and my friends. " I always get  by with a little help from my friends ".  They are my family.  I am most fortunate to have been loved as well as I have been.  Most never find the one true love of their lives.  I was lucky to have found two.  Life is for the living.  I am still alive and want to enjoy every single day.  Laughter is always the best medicine, and sometimes we forget that.  A smile costs you nothing, but may make someone feel that just one person cares.  Everyone needs love! I really try and enjoy the kisses of my dogs, the smell of my flowers, and the freshness of the rain.  Being in Kansas I long for the sand and the beach, but I love all the places I've traveled all over this great county of ours.  I feel fortunate to have lived the life I have.  I have experienced a myriad of things in my life, and I look forward to what lies ahead.

Activities

I love anything to do with water. Swimming, water skiing, floating! I spend my summers gardening. I grow a lot of different things, but my roses take the most time. Playing with my dogs, is one of my greatest joys. The eldest is Georgia, a Shepherd/Chow mix, Duke the Second, a Jack Russell/Rat Terrior mix, and Elizabeth Katherine, ( Lizzie Kat ), who is a full blooded Rottweiller. All three are adopted. I also love to fish, paint, sculpt and design. I love spending hours walking through great museums. Of course that was easier when I lived in New York, but we have a world class museum here in Kansas City. My only family is my beloved niece, Courtney, who lives with her family in Wyoming. She's all grown up with two children of her own. I also love the theatre, opera, and the symphony.

Favorite Charities

Anything to do with animals, children or my church. Catholic Charities does so much good for people. Luekemia and Lymphoma Society, I volunteer for. I worked for many years for the MD as well as the MS and Easter Seal telethons. My mother always taught me to give back. My life has been blessed in so many ways, that whenever I have the opportunity, I try and be of service.

Favorite Music

I love the classics, blues, jazz and good old rock 'n roll. Mostly the great russian composers. I still play the piano occasionally, ( mostly at Christmas ). Anything by Elvis or Barbra. Handel and Tchicovsky make me weep and harp music always reduces me to tears. I'm a bit sentimental.

Favorite TV Shows

Cashmere Mafia, Two and a Half Men, Desperate Housewives, Grays Anatomy and Dancing With the Stars! I also watch Fox news - way too much!

Favorite Movies

Gone With the Wind, Casablanca, Snow Dogs, Doctor Zivago, anything that makes me cry!

Favorite Books

Any biography or autobiography. Anything Shakespere. The Prophet, by Kahlil Gibran, the poetry of Emily Dickenson, Edgar Allen Poe, and Clive Cussler. I also love Jane Eyre and most anything by the Bronte sisters. Elizabeth Barrett Browning is a favorite as well.

Favorite People

My niece, all my adopted nieces, and I'm lucky to have to best group of friends, any girl could have. In my life I have had the opportunity to meet and work with people all from all walks of life, but my favorites are my " Sisters In Life- Elise and Kate ", my blood niece Courtney, and all my adopted nieces, Lisa, Erica and Adrian, and all the many babies I get to love and play with.

Favorite Places

Maui, New York, Colorado, really my back yard. I enjoy my flowers and my pool. It's just an extension of my house, and therefore, I decorate as such.

Favorite Animals

Horses, Dogs, Cats, Elephants - I've been lucky enough to ride one bareback! I also love Dolphins, wolves, deer, almost all critters, except reptiles and rodents. My grandfather used to say that I was the original " Ellie May Clampett ". " There's nothing better for the soul of a woman, that the outside of a horse". I'm stealing and changing that from the late great Will Rogers. Nothing quite clears the mind, than just you and a horse riding head into the wind. It frees my mind and lifts my soul
