Since I left NY in 1969, I've lived in Savannah, GA and Tulsa, OK. I guess you could say I'm an Okie now, though you never lose the big city perspective on life. I've traveled throughout the US, and had many wonderful vacations in Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. In 1996 I spent three weeks in Belgium with a dear friend who took me to Paris, Amsterdam, Bruges (now a movie?), as well as other small places.

I am a retired high school English teacher. Now I'm a part-time instructor at community college. I have two children and two grandchildren. I share my life with a lovely man with whom I share many interests. I live pretty quietly on five acres of treed land where I have several gardens (with weeds),and watch birds and other wild critters. For exercise, my partner and I ride bicycles (great trails in Tulsa), swim at the local activity center, boat and fish in area lakes. In the evenings we watch Netflix dvd's: Prime Suspect, Lost, Firefly -some favorites. Reading is my great love - mostly serious fiction and non-fiction of all types. In addition, I try to improve myself by reading spiritual works from a variety of traditions. My sister is a Buddhist practitioner and she has added much to my enrichment. I used to write some (what english teacher hasn't?)- poetry, short story - but now that I'm older, I just don't have as much to say as I once did. And even if I do, others are saying it much better than I ever could.

One of my favorite teachers was Sister Mary Nelson. She taught elocution and composition. English is a rich language. I am sure that many of your students learned to mine it.
