More about me

I am a retired U.S. civil servant, enjoying new-found freedom and time that I can call my own! I want to get back now to the things I love to do: drawing and painting, writing, doing archaeology, and traveling. I am thankful for the good deal that life has dealt me, so I really couldn't ask for anything more -- but I'm asking for more, anyway! I try to be prepared for the worst in life, so anything better than that is a great and pleasant surprise. That sounds a little negative, I know, but it does have one psychological advantage for me....I don't get disappointed very easily. It works for me! I have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren. My wife is my greatest love and inspiration. Like I have said so many times to my wife in my early years -- "I want to have an interesting life". I'm going to make that happen now.

I am the creator and administrator of Archaeological Digs, a popular info-blog about archaeological dig and field school opportunities throughout the world, and ArchaeologyNet, a social networking site for archaeologists and students. 

Activities

I love to travel, eat fine food, attend shows, play on the beach, read, write, and draw and paint. I am an artist and free-lance writer by avocation. I also love to participate as a volunteer with archaeological projects throughout the world.
