I'm a native Jayhawker (the only one in my family of Okies and Missourians) and still a Kansan at heart, although I moved to Texas in 1969 to "keep from starving." With a Master's degree from KU in medieval literature and linguistics, I knew starving was a real possibility. Eventually (after 11 years telling people how to repair airplanes) I found my niche in advertising, at which I've worked for 32 years and counting. On the side I write poetry, tend a flower garden, watch birds (and squirrels), and play with my two wonderful granddaughters. I've been married to Clara (a native of Brooklyn) for 42 years and counting.
