Retired Dude
Location: St. Louis, Missouri
Relationship: Married; interested in meeting people for friendship and meeting people for networking
More about me—
I was born in August, 1946. POB: Sparta, Wisconsin—a small town near LaCrosse, Wisconsin. On paper I am 65, but I have tried to live, as Bryan Adams sings, “eighteen till I die”. I have retired twice: once from the military after 20 years in the U.S. Army; the second time from an aerospace company, McDonnellDouglas Corporation, (later, after the merger, Boeing) for a total of 21 years.
U.S.Army, Military Police-1965 to 1986
Served in Vietnam, 1966-1967 and 1968-1969
McDonnell Douglas Corporation (Boeing) Industrial Security-1988 to 2009
I have a wonderful wife, Mary, who is from St. Louis, MO.
The Road Not Taken by Robert FrostTwo roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.Ecclesiastes 3:1–8.:To everything there is a season, and time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Even though it's a wholly personal choice, which may or may not tally with you as a good one, all I can say is "what can one do?" Personal taste is personal taste! The list, in no particular order, is as follows: (1) Star Wars (all) (2) The Man who would be King (1975) (3) Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1939) (4) Casablanca (1941) (5) The Last Detail (1973) (6) The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) (7) A Man For All Seasons (1966) (8) 12 Angry Men (1957) (9) Unforgiven (1992) (10) From Here to Eternity (1953) (11) Great Expectations (1946)
