Gee, so much to tell, so little space.

I am a fairly conservative guy, but think of it more of common-sensical than a philosophy.  Unfortunately, common sense ain't all that common anymore.

I am married, happily for the most part.  No kids, but a couple of cats who are more spoiled than any human child could ever be.

I live in a small town in Southwest Oklahoma - the hottest place you'll ever be in the summer, and the coldest and windiest place you'll ever be in the winter ... just ask all the guys who've gone through Basic Training at Fort Sill.  I will probably still be living in this town when I die.  (Oh, wait ... this is for people over 40 ... maybe I ought not mention death!)

Activities

Blogging/writing ... pointing out to other people the stupid things they are doing ... feeling my brain cells die as I watch TV ... feeling my brain cells regenerate as I read new items on the internet ... just living life.

Favorite Charities

I have always been a firm believer that charity begins at home. I will take care of me and mine, and no one else will have to worry about us. ... We do, however, care for a cranky old goat who lives next door to us - a guy I call "Dad, " mainly because he is my father, a 100% disabled Veteran who thankfully goes to Michigan every summer to terrorize relatives up there.

Favorite Music

Anything BUT Country and Jazz, leaning more towards Classic Rock.

Favorite TV Shows

24!! There is no other show on television! ... Well, except LOST, the original CSI (I only watch the Miami version when I need a laugh), and Law & Order SVU. I watch some "reality" TV, but am quickly growing tired of it.

Favorite Movies

"North By Northwest" is STILL my favorite movie of all time. I also like "Last of the Mohicans" with Daniel Day Lewis, and almost any movie with the word "Rocky" in the title. ..... Oh, and any movie with Will Farrel in it will be listed on my LEAST favorites! The man is an over-rated hack.

Almost anything by Steinbeck.

My wife (I HAVE to say that) ... my niece Erin (the best of the bunch) ... my Mom (who passed in 2007) ... and the gal who mows our grass (because that means I don't have to).

Favorite Animals

In general, I guess I like all animals. Oh, I could do without rats, snakes, and my neighbor's constantly barking dog ... but I guess they serve their purposes. I have been trying for years to get my wife to let me have a Komodo Dragon in the back yard ... but she doesn't think that's such a good idea. Specifically - our cats Tiger and Joy. And Chester (the cat in the profile picture) even though I've never actually met him and he's - for the most part - a figment of my imagination.
