Hi! I live in a very rural area of West Virginia. This has been my home all my life, but I have lived in numerous other places. I am a grandmother, and love every minute of it. I  have two children, and two grand children.

I was widowed at the age of 31, but married again several years after that.

I've been active in our church since 1974.

I was the managing editor of our only county newspaper, which was a weekly, for over 20 years. This job was challenging and something I truly enjoyed doing. Befoe my first child was born, I was a teacher for two years.

I am an avid Trekkie - - - mostly the original series that began in 1966. Although I consider it a healthy thing, my family consider me obsessed!!! I guess it's all in how one sees it.

My husband worked in the coal mines of West Virginia for newrly 36 years but is now retired, as we both are.

I would really enjoy an e-mail friendship if anyone is interested.

Activities

I have been exping with more advanced kinds of cooking since I retires. I am passionate about reading. Grandchildren are my favorite interest now.

Favorite Music

Current country music is something I enjoy, but I prefer the oldies music. Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks, etc. I do not like pop current music, but man do I enjoy the golden oldies - - - remember The Righteous Brothers, Gene Pitney, The Four Seasons, and so on. It may be a cliche, but they certanily don't make music like that anymore. I enjoy southern gospel music.

Favorite TV Shows

My favorite show of all time has to be Star Trek. Since I've retired, I have been watching a great deal old TV. As for current favorites, I have taken a strange like to The Sopranos. I really love Fraiser and Boston Legal.

Favorite Movies

I have seen and enjoyed all the Star Trek movies, but especially loved The Wrath of Kahn and The Search for Spock. I love Independence Day - - - it is a feel good movie. Other movies are I Walk the Line.

Favorite Books

My favorite authors are Stephen King and John Grisham. I enjoy historic fiction and movies that combine all the great parts of a story - action, mystery, romance, a problem to solve, etc.
