About

Hometown
I was born in Denison Tx , but raised in Dallas.
Places I've been
Lived in San Antonio twice, lived in Newfoundland for ten months, visited 24 cities in 19 states. Moved back to Denison in 1978.
More about me
  1. I was born in Denison TX, but   grew up and went to schools in a section of Dallas, Oak Cliff and a very small community, Cockrell Hill. I graduated from that great school, Sunset High, married an Air Force man, and moved to Newfoundland in that wonderful magical year 1957.

In 1958 our first son was born, in Dallas, at the Methodist Hospital, the same hospital as my husband was born, and just a few weeks later, moved to San Antonio.

It was four years later, we moved to Denison for the first time.  In the fall of 1965 I was expecting our second son, and taking an Art course for one semester, at a local Junior College.  The next year our second son was born, and a short three years later we moved back to San Antonio.

In another three years we moved to Dallas where coincidently the three guys, the two sons and husband, were in their preferred schools.   After my husband received his degree in Anesthesia, we made our final move to Denison.

The year 1984 was a happy and some what sad year for I became totally blind, which was a bummer, and our first son graduated from Austin College in Sherman TX, and the second son graduated from Denison High.

In 2000 I pulled myself out of my invisible shell by joining groups that helped support the elderly and disabled.  I help to start our little group the Visually Impaired People, VIP.  The fun group is really my sons and husbands group the MVP, Military Vehicle Preservation.  They go on camp outs and static shows and various parades with the two Jeeps. I manage to join a few parades, especially at Christmas, which is always a joy.

I am glad to have found this web site and glad to get to know you webbies.  Thanks for turning a frown upside down, and for making this blind lady smile!  DJ
