Hi!
I am a newcomer (sort of) to Maine. Although my husband and I have been coming here for summers since 1978, we moved here permanently about 18 months ago. We are "semi-retired," meaning that we still  work freelance via computer writing educational materials.

We live in what was a summer cottage on 40+ acres on a small lake in Maine. It was a big change...moving to Maine, but I love this location. I always wanted to retire here.

In between work assignments (I write elementary math materials for various publishers and development houses), I like to paint, fish, read, and browse antique, thrift, and craft shops. I began oil painting a few years ago. Looking for an interesting class, I had  a choice  between oil painting or tap dancing! I'm glad I chose the painting (though I used to dance and love that too.) Oh - and I like the word games, puzzles, and strategy games.

I've worked as a teacher (math and gifted) and full-time in publishing. Whereever I am, I seem to get involved in volunteering - mostly related to church and schools.
