I was born in LosAngeles, Calif. lived my first 21 years in LaCrescenta Calif. until I moved to Yakima, Washington for Nurses training, which I thoroughly enjoyed! The country was beautiful, the people friendly and interesting, and I was doing what I loved! I attended 12 years Catholic School, was in Girl Scouts for 12 years, and picked it up again with my daughter for 5 years. My mother and the sisters in school instilled the love of reading in me, and I remember fun trips to the library getting as many books as I could get away with, and wanting to do nothing but read! After nurses training, I was a Girl Scout camp nurse for 3 months, in Truckee, Calif. Then ventured to Pacifica, got my first nursing job in Redwood City, met my husband who lived across the street, married, had 3 children and was a stay at home mom for 10 years before moving to our present home in Mt. Jewett, Pa. I immediatly fell in love with the seasons, the small country schools, country life around me and feel rooted here! In Pacifica, I was introduced to LaLeche League, for moms who breast feed, and became a Leader a year before moving to Pa. My husband died in '88, and the kids and I picked up the pieces, and made the best of our country life! I met Doug, my present husband in '91, and a whole different life began! My kids were out of the nest, and for the first time in my life I was living with more than 2 or 3 dogs! 26 huskies! The musher life was strange, riskey, but full of adventure, some of which I shared with Doug on the races he attended in Canada, New Hamshire, and Pa. We have downsized to 10 dogs, and a cozey home life with the dogs!

I enjoy walking, for brain clarity, sceinery, health, and because I can do it! I live in a rural area, and walk hi way 6 quite often in good weather, but other areas also. I try to work up to 5 miles by the end of the summer! I attend Silver Sneakers, an exercise, balance, coordination group for Seniors. It is such fun, and people are upbeat! I enjoy cooking--healthy, wholesome foods. The challange of making something good for our bodies, and tastey at the same time is rewarding! My husband is very appreciative of anything I cook! I am learning the computer, thanks to my sister SayKath! I have little patience, get frustrated easily, but try to keep my cool, so as not to wreak what I am so lucky to have! I am interested in Photography.

Dogs. We have 13, as my husband is a musher! We have one full blooded huskey, a chow-huskey, a black lab, 9 4yr.old '"pup" that are lab-huskey, and my dog Tucker, who is a basidore--a bassett-lab! Molly the lab, Tucker, and Charlie the chow huskie are our 3 house dogs, with the pups rotating in and out, when not in the kennels. Let's just say, "We have gone to the dogs"

Dropping by to say "hello" and wishing you a warm and wonderful week ahead. Here in beautiful Lake of the Ozarks mild temps are ahead for the week with sunny bright skies. Although we had some very strong winds during the night at least we didn't get the damage they had in the south. I know those of you in NE and/or NW have had some unwelcomed weather and I hope you are okay. I'm sure we'll get our winter soon and then I'll be back complaining to you.
