Places I've been

Went to school in, and lived all over Kansas, spent summers in NE Oklahoma, travelled from "sea to shining sea" several times, plus crossed North and South US borders. Visited in Turkey twice for several weeks at a time, stopping in Germany.

More about me

I have three wonderful daughters--all grown and married. Two currently live in Kansas, and one is on the east coast. Five grandchildren, two girls and three boys, keep me young at heart, and very busy! I also have a fifteen-year-old Schnauzer whose self-appointed job is taking long naps.

I like to garden, and completed a Master Gardener course a few years ago. I worked in a greenhouse a couple of years, and was a SPED para for many years--loved both jobs.

My hobby for the past 20+ years has been genealogy and, more recently, I've worked on old photos--learning how to edit and repair them after scanning them into my computer. It's a very rewarding process!  I've found that doing genealogy on the computer also has a bonus---I correspond with "cousins" more often than ever before, thanks to e-mail and social networking!

 

Activities

I do genealogy, and love traveling to, and walking, old cemeteries, photographing headstones. I really love to travel in general, car is my favorite mode.

For romance--I call them my "Calgon Movies": Sleepless In Seattle, City Of Angels, Pretty Woman, Walk in the Clouds. For fun and adventure: Pirates of the Caribbean (all 3), Get Smart, Beauty Shop, all 3 Indiana Jones earlier movies, and The Mummy/Scorpion King set.

Favorite Books

The Swiss Family Robinson, and The Little House on the Prairie series, were my childhood favorites.Many books and many authors have traveled through my mind's eye in the years since.
