I have made many visits to England, the Four Corners area of the Southwest, the UP of Michigan, the North and South Shores of Lake Superior, western South Dakota, and many other places in the U.S., with the exception of the Northwest and Maine. I have visited many state and national parks and have also traveled to Vietnam, Novia Scotia, Mexico, and Paris, France. I have lived in Illinois, Missouri and Minnesota.

I enjoy photography and have been shooting with a digital SLR camera for about one year.  I hope to learn more, appreciate feedback, and enjoy seeing the work of others.

Activities

My favorite activities are photography, gardening, hiking, exploring the outdoors, (usually with a camera along), reading, traveling, going to movies, and eating at ethnic food restaurants. I love the national park system and would like to visit all of the parks in my life time. I am also a collector of teapots, Native American art, folk art, antiques, and ???. I enjoy flea markets, yard sales, antique sales, and arts & crafts shows/festivals.

I like most genres of music but folk, bluegrass, blues, reggae, certain rock/pop, R&B, and country, probably in that order, are what I listen to most.

No cable and spotty reception, but I will admit to the following: Law & Order, Prime Suspect series on PBS, Boston Legal, Mentalist, Brothers & Sisters

Favorite Books

I am an avid reader and have too many favorite books to list them all. I particularly like British mystery writers; Minette Walters is one of my favorites. I also enjoy detective novels and read everything Walter Mosley writes. I like the classics, particularly contemporary, literary fiction, and also read a lot of Holocaust literature.
