I was married 31 years.  My husband passed away Dec 2005, 3 weeks after being diagnosed with a GBM brain tumor.  I had just retired after 31 years with AT&T and he would have retired in 2008 after 35 years with CSX Railroad.  Life was good, we were a close couple but my life as I knew it ended when he passed away.  He took part of me with him. 

These days, I work toward creating a new normal for myself.  Ron is thought about all thru the day but not every minute every second of the day as in the first stages of grief.  The stabbing breathtaking pain has been replaced with a dull longing to see him once again.  Knowing that I will see him again gives me hope and the will to go on.  I know this separation is not permanent.  I am not bitter and strive for the loss to make me better.

I have 2 children, 2 grandsons (one that was born 10 days after Ron passed away).
