I moved from Texas at 10, lived in San Francisco for 2 years, then ended up in the San Fernando Valley of L.A. After marrying, off we went to the middle of nowhere in Eastern Oregon--Summer Lake. In the 90's, we moved to Grants Pass, OR.

More about me

I'm a middle school teacher who loves imparting what I know to my students.  When I'm in front of them, I get energized and excited over what I'm teaching.

I love traveling and visited the southwest 2 years ago; went to Belize in March; and enjoyed camping around Mt. Bachelor and on the Lost Coast of Northern California this summer.

Being outdoors is important to me, and keeping abreast of current events is too. 

Activities

With summers off, I love traveling, camping, and being outdoors. Hiking, rafting, laying in the sun, being in the mountains, going to the ocean, just breathing the fresh air are all things I love to do. I have always wanted to learn how to golf, but haven't yet. I use to ride horses, but not having any makes it hard, tennis was a favorite of mine, but it's been awhile. If it's an inside activity, I'm probably reading the paper or watching the news--I love current events and knowing what's going on in the world.

Favorite Books

"Pride & Prejudice"--I'm a big Jane Austen fan--that was easy! I'm a language arts teacher, so you'd think I'd have tons of books to list. But maybe there are just too many.

Favorite TV Shows

I love mysteries--and news shoes--guess politics can be a bit of a mystery too.

Favorite Movies

"Pride & Prejudice"--I'm a big Jane Austen fan. I also like "Death at a Funeral" and "Little Miss Sunshine" for their black humor. "Mamma Mia" is now top on my list of fun movies.

Favorite Music

I volunteer at an outdoor venue here in Southern Oregon--the Brit in Jacksonville. Every summer they have a variety of musical acts, so I have seen quite a variety over the years. Mark Knopfler remains my favorite, but my musical tastes are wide: jazz, new age, classical, bluegrass--just about everything. I also sing in a women's barbershop chorus.
