Hello,
I am a lover of nature, dogs, reading, visual and performing art, and a “Zen” type of life. I love philosophical discussions. I am partially interested in talking about how the female role in our society and religion has been intertwined.I am a 52-year-old divorced woman with two wonderful (of course) grown children; and a great mother and father who are who live several hours from me. I also have a very handsome, smart and adorable four-year-old grandson. (I am really not biased). I have an interesting job in philanthropy. Life is good; I do wish my family lived closer.
I am just now starting to think about my dreams and my future. I am still fairly new at being single with no children to live my life around. So it is a new experience to have time to think about the possibilities awaiting me.
I am basically a homebody, who enjoys new places and people but in small doses. I love joy and laughter. I enjoy small things, the way sunlight can make tiny rainbows sometimes, the beauty of trees, the comfort of a nice warm bed........Big splashes are great but the everyday wonders are what I try to pluck out of every day.

I love to read, so to narrow this down would be difficult. I love works by Elizabeth Berg, Mary Alice Monroe, and Patricia Morsi. I just finished listening to "Tall Grass" by Sandra Dallas. I enjoy audiobooks in the car on the way back and forth to work and on trips. Some of the books that I keep on my book shelf are: Gift from the Sea, by Anne Morrow Lindbergh, The Measure of Our Success by Marian Wright Elelman, The Dog with the Cold Nose, by James Dent, quite a few books regarding West Virginia History and some of my treasured childhood books.

When asked " Do you think all any of us really want, deep down, is to be loved?" Garrison Keillor responded: "No, we want to be rich, to be admired, to eat like a horse and be skinny as a snake. To have small children ask for our autographs, to be on terrific medications that make us calm and witty and sexy. To sing Irving Berlin and Gerswin and Porter at the Oak Room and to be decribed in the Times as 'luminous'. But in the absence of all that, it's enough to be loved."
