I'm a pretty traditional southern gal. I own a business and am fortunate to have a terrific family and a great group of friends. I am divorced and have one wonderful son. I'm a very social person and I love to travel. I am a Christian and try to live my life accordingly. In order to be truly happy, I need a convertible and to live where I can see water.

Activities

I love watching college football. I enjoy NASCAR but usually only go to the 'Dega and Atl races. I enjoy traveling but with the airport hassles now, I'd just as soon go by car. I'd love to see all of THIS country before I set sail for all the others. I wouldn't call myself a nature nut, but I am truly in awe of God's creations. He did some beautiful work didn't he ? I love going to the beach or the lake.....must be a water thing with me. I love sitting on the dock with my morning coffee and watching the fish jump. I'll even throw in a line and catch a few it you'll clean them. I love an early morning or late evening boat ride when the lake is quiet. I love sitting or walking on the beach and seeing and hearing the waves roll in while waiting for the sunset.

Favorite Charities

The bulk of my giving is done through my church. I also support local organizations that help the homeless or handicapped. I contribute to several cancer and childrens charities and our local humane society.

Favorite Music

I really like a variety(as you can see from my playlist) but my favorite would be oldies.....anything from the 60's and 70's. Motown to Jimmy Buffett........just don't try to sneak any Rap in there......YIKES ! I've started attending concerts again. In the last few months I've seen the Eagles, Rod Stewart and Kenny Loggins. All were still great after all these years.

Favorite TV Shows

How I met your mother...2 1/2 Men...Saving Grace....Grey's Anatomy...Old Christine, or anything else that makes me laugh or uplifts me. I am really getting tired of the networks trying to make every show politically correct.

Favorite Movies

As with everything else in my life, the "girl" in me loves a happy ending, which along with my love of laughter seems to dictate my choices. Recent movies I enjoyed: Made of Honor, Mama Mia, Nights in Rodanthe, Secret Life of Bees, Gran Torino, Slumdog Millionaire I'm trying to expose myself to a little more culture. We have a few great venues here for plays and musicals. One a month is my goal. Atlanta also has a lot to offer and only an hour up the road.

Favorite Books

I don't have a favorite author as much as I have a favorite type. I love anything that makes me laugh. I spent many hours laughing out loud while reading the "Sweet Potato Queen" books by Jill Connor Browne. All southern women (or anyone who wants to understand southern women) need to read this series. I actually prefer writing to reading. I keep threatening to write a book about some of my crazy life experiences when I retire, if only for my own entertainment. Not to worry, names will be changed to protect the innocent.

REAL people. Those that don't judge, whine, complain, belittle or blame. I love people that make me laugh, appreciate the good things in their lives and make an effort to be kind to others. My parents (below) taught me to enjoy life.

I love most animals. The best ones are the ones that don't make a lot of noise and don't stink. Come to think of it, those are the best kind of people too.
