For those of you who may visiting my page for the first time: I'm 52; widowed; mother of 4 adult children (ages 31, 28, 24 & 22, in years), grandmother of 1 grandchild (age 5)
Born: Emma "Jean" Mayhew, in 1957; married in 1980 to Hilton "Calvin" Lowe, Jr, originally of Bethesda, Maryland, (widowed, May 17th, 2007); hence my screen name.
Parent's, Aaron ["Denny"] L Mayhew & Emma Sue [Reynolds] Mayhew (Deceased, April 15th, 2007); and Siblings: Brenda, Kathy, Glenn, Darlene, Debby, Budd, Harry & Martha; and (a half-brother,) Aaron L. R, in AU [born 1944, in Ireland, during WWII; the firstborn of the whole clan to our fathers first true love, and] as all may be well or better known by those who knew or know them.
We are a big family, with many children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren, extended families, and friends. Spread out on the East coast; MD, VA, PA, NY, SC, GA [Just thought I'd mention, in case anybodies looking for them?]
I'm a good listener; hospitable; emotionally supportive friend & family member; understanding, caring, giving, helping as much as I am able to be, and then some.
I've been a mother for 32 years now, and much of those years were spent fighting for their rightful education in public schools. To no avail. Until we moved here, where the battle ensued; and my effort's uncovered 25 years of educational wrongs throughout the county and my complaint to the Federal Dept of Education resulted in righting those wrongs for hundreds of student's here! WoW! [Who knew!?!] Which is the one of the things I can honestly say that I'm proud of affecting & that has actually helped others; multitudes! even. [Yet, ironically, not my own hearing impaired son, despite my best effort's !?!]
There's so many things that I use to like and love(d) to do; make new friends; reading, writing, journal, blog, learning, making things, cooking; and gardening too. Especially gardening; I love flowers of every kind; and Spring time always makes me think of new birth & life everlasting, and hope, in all things.
In the short time that I've been on eons I am thankful for the friendships found here. Everyone has been truly thoughtful, caring, and wonderful.

has included spending some of my time on the computer; It has also become my link (& lifeline) to the outside world & keeps me up to date (where may concern or interests me) and in touch with family & friends, who live long distance from me now. When I'm not on my computer, I'm playing with my 5 year old grandson, Trying to sell a few antiques.

And a lot more I want to see. When I'm not at the movies, they're here at home with me, on tv! I guess I've become a movie junkie !?! But don't ask me specifics about them, as I've never been adapt at remembering titles and actors. D'OH!

I am currently collecting old books; Classics & Literature Collections; Readers Digest [HB] Series mostly, a few Harvard Collections, that I recently found, and others dated as far back as 1921. I just love books! (Thank you Mom!) Sadly I will be selling them, to raise the much needed funds, while appealling for disability.

the Ocean; Chesapeake Bay, Ocean City, MD, Wildwood, NJ. (are the only places I know best and have actually been) and, I would love to see the world or as much of it as may be possible - before I die! All the Tourist spots that is. God made so many beautiful places! and things, and people to fill it. I'd love to have the opportunity to digest as much as possible of it.
- Favorite Animals

Dogs. Cats. Horses. Rabbits. Pigmy Goats. Guinea Hens. For different reasons and/or purposes. At present, I have a [5 lb] Yorkshire Terrier, red & silver-blue hue, with curly hair; and my grandson has a Red American Pit Bull (at my house); who is beautiful too, and affectionate, playful, and very people friendly; who I helped rescue at age 5 weeks, and she's over 1 year now; I'm proud to say. It just so happens that I've had many opportunities to take care of animals - that others throw away !?! And if I could, I'd take them all!
