Places I've been

My husband and I lived in Albemarle Sound, North Carolina for a while after we were married before moving back to Ohio. I have visited many other states. One of my favorite places is Savannah, Georgia. It is such a beautiful city, steeped with history.

More about me

I was born in Athens, Ohio on December 6th, 1958.  My family lived on a small farm in Vinton county, not far from Albany, until I was five. We then moved back to Athens county where I grew up.  I graduated from Alexander High School and attended the University of Rio Grande.  I got married in 1976.  I have three children.  Isaac is 28, John is 26 and Jessica is 22.  I have five grandchildren as of right now, Erika, Austin, Candace, Devon and Ian.  John and Brandy are expecting a little girl in September (Adriaunna).  I can hardly wait.  Our grandaughter Erika makes her home with us and we feel very blessed to have her. 

Activities

My interests are many and varied. One of my favorites is gardening. I love to grow flowers and herbs as well as the usual vegetable gardens. I also like to cook and decorate. In my spare time, I like to read, work on family geneaology, do jigsaw puzzles and crosstitch. I like to be outdoors as much as possible too. I love to go biking, fishing and camping with the family. I like to take long solitary hikes and just think. I belong to our local poetry club, historical society and the Heritage Herb club. I like to do church activities too.

My favorite charities are any that truly helps other people.

Favorite Music

I love all types of music. Our home was filled with music while I was growing up. For that, I am so thankful. My dad was, and still is, a poet and a musician. I am so thankful that we had the blessing of music in our home. I play the dulcimer so I like folk music a lot. I think Pink Floyd is my all time favorite though. I like all classic rock, classical (Pachabel), and contemporary christian too.

Favorite TV Shows

My favorite show right now is Planet Earth. I get to see all these amazing places that I would love to see in person. I like to watch the National Geographic channel, documentaries, and the History Channel.

Favorite Movies

The Whales of August, The Notebook, Last of the Mohicans, Bridges of Madison County, Same Time Next Year (OK! I like romance) I like some sci-fi too and I really enjoy a good western.
