England; Punta Cana - went on 2 fantastic side trips; Las Vegas - visited the Grand Canyon. Unbeliebably wondrously beautiful; Atlantic City, Nova Scotia; New Brunswick, Quebec - Montreal and Quebec City (Winter Carnival); Calgary, Alberta,; Saskatchewan; B.C. I have a daughter in Toronto so I've been there and Niagara Falls lots of times. I also have friend in Cornwall so go there, and Ottawa and Hull.

More about me

I'm in my late 50's.  I love spending time with my daughters and grandchildren, especially my grandson who lives nearby and is just learning to walk.  I love walking, gardening, bird watching, craft making.  I've just started to learn how to do watercolour painting.

I enjoy going out to dinner, dancing or to the movies with a companion.

I'm easy going but assertive, gentle, caring and love to help other people.  I like to laugh, joke and kid around.  I am very honest. I treat people the way I expect to be treated.

I love cats and I have a long-haired gray and white one who enjoys my company and leaves lots of fur around.

I love to cook and am a great cook.  I love baking and decorating elaborate cakes, such as wedding cakes using my own design with the theme suggested.  I once did a three tier cake with ponds, cattails, and the bride & groom were in a canoe on the top layer pond with a stained glass rainbow over them.  It was quite spectacular.  The bride was ecstatic which made me happy.  I was pretty nervous about it all.

Activities

Walking, reading, baking, bird watching, photography, arts & crafts, water colour painting. Dancing, dining and going to the movies. I love bowling even though I haven't done it for a long time. I love gardening and flowers. Walking is great, especially along the shore or in the country or Conservation Area.

Favorite Charities

Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Fund, MS, chuch, Also donate locally by buying second hand at Salvation Army and Goodwill.

Favorite Music

Easy Listening, Relaxing nature sounds, Rock and Pop. Hate Country and WEstern and Heavy Metal!

Favorite TV Shows

Bones, Las Vegas, CSI, Just For Laughs, Old (and new) Game Shows, movies, etc. Guest shows are okay in small doses depending on the host. Documentary articles on people or animals. Not much for Reality shows.

Favorite Movies

Adventure and excitement like National Treasure. Comedy and animated. I enjoy a good drama depending on what it is. I like musicals too. As well I do like going to the "Theatre" for live performances.

Favorite Books

I like so many books, it's difficult to pin down. Murder/Mystery, comedy, self-help - meditation, ("In The Now", "It's all Too Much") and suchlike, tips, joke books, real life job escapades (ie. James Herriot). I like both fiction and non-fiction. I'm game to read almost anything.

Favorite Quotes

My own favourite is "What a sweetie! Who can resist that smile!"(That's cause my grandson is close by and we are out a lot and he's flirting with everyone and is a magnet to young, old, male and female. It's true - most people turn from grouch to grinners in the presence of smiling babes.) "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." "That's Life". "You should have listened to your intuition".

Friends, daughters, grandchildren, 2 aunts, a couple of cousins.

Favorite Places

Nova Scotia. But, since I'm in Ontario now, I love going to the Cataraqui Conservation Area, or for local small village drives (Delta, Wilton, Westport.) Quaint areas. I love sitting down near the lake and relaxing or walking along the shore. Seniors Centre for fun activities or social gathering. I love going to museums and casinos.

Favorite Animals

Cats - big cats, little cats, any cat. Love tigers but they are meant for the wild so I won't own one. Dogs are okay but I wouldn't want to own one. I don't mind them as long as they're well behaved.
