One of the first babies born at Elmendorf Air Force Base, traveled with my Air Force family throughout the USA, my father's last station was at Wheelus Air Force Base, Tripoli, Libya. It was a really great place to live at that time, during our stay the first Congo uprising occurred, and we saw many of the refugees on their way back to Europe. Met my husband on a blind date at the University of Tampa, took a phosphate freighter to Europe on our honeymoon, in the middle of November, nearly went to St Petersburg Russia on the return due to miscommunication with the shipping company. Moved to Washington state in 1974, live on an island north of Seattle, and have worked at the local library for 30 years.
