Places I've been

I went to school at Hunter College in NYC, fell in love with Charleston South Carolina and almost lived in Cape Coral Florida. I drove along the Pacific Ocean but didn't get to put my toes into the surf.

More about me

I grew up to be 5'2" but I lost 2" a couple years ago. I wore the color tan a lot but now I like grey colors to match my hair. I also like green, olive green, clothes to match the color of my eyes.

I don't count the candles on my cake but I count my blessings. I'm called GeeGee, (great grandmother) by 4 boys.

I enjoy listening to the Oldies on the radio.  The music is great.  I heard all this music while my 3 children played those songs when they were growing up. I like all varieties of music and I wish I knew someone who played the mandolin or the guitar for me to listen to. 

Activities

I walk to the Post Office and the library and the grocery store. I drive to church. I sew and I paint with water colors and I love to work on my balcony garden of herbs and flowers. I love my cat Taz and I enjoy walking to the park to see folks walking their dogs.

Animal Humane Societies, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Oasis for desparate women in dangerous home situations

Favorite Music

The Oldies from the 50's, 60's and 70's - "Dancing in the Moonlight", "dancing in the Street", "You are the Sunshine of My Life", "Midnight Cowboy", "Hello", etc I saw Porgy & Bess in Chicago. This operetta/opera is one of my favorites. I enjoy most Broadway musicals, besides the Oldies and popular classics.

Favorite TV Shows

Gosh, I don't watch many. I like PBS programs and History and Food Network. I admire Bill Moyers and his Journal.

Favorite Movies

Don't go to the movies much. Favorite classics are "Now Voyager" and "Gaslight". I taped "GWTW" so may watch that again one of these days. I watched "Transformers" at my daughter's house and was glad I saw it. I should go to the movies more often, or rent one.

Favorite Books

I'm reading "May I Have This Dance?", a book on spirituality. I read books about health, food and gardening. Reading magazine articles takes time. I enjoy a good novel (John Grishom) once in awhile.
