Osiyo (hello)

Decided to change my “about me”. I can be short and to the point, (don’t waste words) which is what my “about me” turned out to be. BORING!

I’ve been a wife, am a mom, grandmother and friend.

I’m not doing anything earth shaking, but am enjoying my “Golden Years”, cause I’m doin what I WANT TO DO! Seems like most women, I was always doing for others which is fine, that’s our job when we are raising families, but now it’s my turn. :o)

I have always had empathy, so I help people whenever I can. You don’t have to be a millionaire like Oprah to help people. I helped one of my cousins realize a dream she has had for years to return to a place she lived over 50 years ago, since I live near there, I helped her dream come true. We had a blast! I'm not bragging just making a point.

So here goes – I grew up in a small town and was a teen in the last really innocent time, the 50’s . I have lots of fond memories and some not so fond. I was there in the heyday of Elvis, Frankie Avalon, American Bandstand when Movie Stars were STARS. We didn’t have video games, not even TV until I was 11 years old., there were only a few toys to choose from at Christmas, and somehow we managed to have a lot of fun. I lived at the beach in the summer, Lake MI, and rode my bicycle everywhere, and the usual I walked over a mile to school..

Enjoyed being a Navy wife, especially in Hawaii, where I took scuba diving lessons, and with my family, 2 kids and hubby plus another couple and their two kids, took a 3 day hike through an extinct volcano, Haleakala on Maui, while carrying a 45 pound backpack. The rest of the time I just enjoyed raising my family in such a beautiful place and swimming in the water clear as gin. Also lived in Key West, FL for a short time, my kids really liked it there.

After my divorce, lived in CA until 2000. Now I’m enjoying the Northwest ending up in another small town, it is so beautiful here, it’s a joy just to drive to the grocery store, until I get the bill! GULP! Living in Oregon, the great Northwest, a beautiful place.

I enjoy reading, playing games, playing on my computer, watching my favorite DVD’s and TV programs and visiting with my friends and family.

 

 

 

 

 

Activities

Playing games & cards, bowling, playing on my computer, outdoor things, camping , hiking etc, but can't do as much as I used to due to a condition that keeps me out of the sun and heat.
