Places I've been

basically grew up in Mass...tent camped all over the east coast with my family as a kid from Prince Edward Island/Nova Scotia to Cape Hatteras-Carolinas. Ive since traveled all around the world opening over 30 countries in Europe, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and mainland China. in more recent years i have explored Argentina, Panama, El Salvador and Guatemala. my favorite place on Earth is a little island of the coast of Spain called Ibiza

More about me

I am the founder and ceo of Eons. This fact kind of begs "how did I get here?" ive been working with baby boomers on their jobs and careers most of my adult life. First as a recruiter placing programmers into jobs on IBM equipment, then as an Ad Agency sales person and then as a founder/President of a human resource communications firm called Adion which created a little spin of company called Monster.com. Early on(1995-before there were any .com billionaires) I sold Adion and Monster to a company called TMP Worldwide. From 1995-2005 I ran monster.com in many different capacities. First as founder, then President, then CEO, Chairman and finally my last 3 years as Chief Monster.

All along the way my responsibilities grew and my role in consumer voice and marketing/branding the Monster message directly to Job Seekers stayed my #1 priority. ive always believed the expression "half about a better job<> half about a better life" and after 20 years of working on the jobs part I started getting really curious about the life part. I was coaching Fortune 1000 companies on baby-boomer retirement/exit and i was taking note that none of the boomers i knew were thinking of retirement...in fact, quite the opposite. this lead to the early idea for EONS. More on this later.

I just got married (march 15) to my love Anna.

I have three kids--Ryan(19), Brooke(17) and Cole(13). I have a crazy full life with never a dull moment juggling the challenges of being a good partner, good father and good boss.

Activities

Im very interested in: Real Estate - just beginning building a house in Swampscott, MA. Classic cars - Shelby Mustangs (i own a white 65 and a green 66, project) and old Corvettes (58 and 63 split window). And I'm a DJ - my DJ name is Jefr Tale. i host a weekly show on Sirius/Area33 called Club Tales. i own a website called mixdepot.net. And i run Root Society - one of the larger theme camps at Burning Man.

Favorite Charities

i work very closely with a small village in Guatemala, Santa Maria Teja my parents started volunteering there 20 years ago and i have been much more involved over the last 4-5 years. Ive been to the village a number of times and donated the money to build roads, a school kitchen and now a computer center with 25 working computers, internet access and a generator that powers the school/center. I also sponsor 3 teachers. I learned that high school entry (3 hours away from the village) requires computer skills and no children in the village had any computer experience. This was holding the community back. Now over 500 villagers use the center weekly.

Favorite Music

i grew up with my dad playing The Greatful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Steppenwolf, The Who and my mom loving the Beatles and Credence Clear Water Revival, Joan Mitchell. i went to college in 78 on the tail of Saturday Night Fever and crossed over to the dark side - Disco. Fell in love with funk like George Clinton and Parliment - learned to DJ in my fraternity in 1979 and the rest is history. i have always liked the dance genre. Ive now been djing for 29 years and ive always played new club music.

Favorite TV Shows

I grew up on the classics (i was only being allowed to watch 1 hour of tv a day). my fav's - brady bunch, partridge family, flipper, and gilligan's island and sunday night disney movies. Today im a Law and Order fanatic, entourage, liked Lost but lost the plot, watched 24 for way too long to the point of ridiculous. My partner likes the cooking and designer fashion shows so by default so do I :)

Braveheart, Rob Roy, Gladiator, anything where one guy motivates the masses and stands for something with passion and decisive action. im also a sucker for a good chick flick! i cry on a dime in movies so im good to laugh at!
