Born and bred in New Jersey. Developed (you'll pardon the expression) a career in photography doing commercial product photography and model portfolios. Been all over the Eastern and Southern USA, a whole lot of Canada, and a whole lot of Mexico. Visited most of the Caribbean islands, too.
More about me

“If you aren’t paralyzed, you aren’t going far enough. If you don’t feel yourself being avoidant, you’re probably settling.” --  Gianpaolo Pietri

I am ANN BAKER on Facebook in case you want to be my friend there.  There are a million Ann Bakers on FB.  This one is me:   http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100001750600501

A little bad taste is like a splash of paprika. We all need a splash of bad taste. It's hearty, it's healthy, it's physical.
- Diana Vreeland

My 'serious relationship' is with Tom, who is EagleWarrior here on Eons.  He has moved to Mexico to be with me, and we are living in domestic bliss in the center of the city where we wander around exploring the sights and sounds.  He brought his cat with him, and I keep telling her she has to learn to speak Spanish if she wants to catch any Mexican mice.

We have just added another family member, a street puppy, who looks like Nipper, the RCA dog,  except he has longer curly hair.  It all had to be almost shaved off because it was so dirty and matted.  He has a yin-yang face, half is black and half is white.

am an American ex-pat living in the city of Zacatecas, which is in the central highlands of Mexico. That's up in the mountains in about the center of the country. I was teaching English at several of the local universities, but have given that up as I have lost interest in conjugating the verb 'To Be' for the millionth time, and explaining that the word 'answer' is not pronounced 'ann-swer'.  In fact, I got tired explaining the inexplicable English pronounciation altogther.

I had an ancient car and a young spirit. I replaced the car, but kept the spirit.   I have a man who loves me and inspires me, and a brain-damaged ex-husband whom I keep an eye on. I have kids and grandkids, and a past littered with all kinds of experiences, some of which I wouldn't even mind repeating.

I run daily, do yoga, lift some weights, eat right and think pure thoughts. OK, I lied about the pure thoughts, but the rest is true.  Or almost.

I am in love with the internet and I spend way too much time roaming around in what Gianpaolo Pietri calls the ecosystem that is the internet, whose 'currency is knowlege and whose energy is exchange.'

I love my Kindle, surfing the net and finding free books for download.  I do so love free.

I am a Zen Buddhist, and my interests ramble around spirituality, personal development, symbolism, quantum physics, website development, philosophy, and even the humble needle arts. I read voraciously, and I am not overly picky about what I read, either.

I am opinionated - but in a good way - (I can see your eyes rolling. Stop that!)  I have intellectual leanings, but I only lean just so far.  Then I have to get out my dictionary.

I aspire to be the kind of woman about whom, when my feet hit the floor in the morning, the Devil says, 'Oh, crap. She's up.'  I sing off key, and drive too fast to worry about cholesterol. I believe every day is a gift and each morning I can't wait to rip off the wrapping and see what I got.

                            Make no little plans

Make no little plans. They have no magic to stir men's blood and probably themselves will not be realized. Make big plans; aim high in hope and work, remembering that a noble, logical diagram once recorded will never die, but long after we are gone will be a living thing, asserting itself with ever-growing insistency. Remember that our sons and grandsons are going to do things that would stagger us. Let your watchword be order and your beacon beauty. Think big.

Daniel Burnham, Chicago architect. (1846-1912)
