Places I've been

I have always lived in Guayaquil, but since I love traveling, I have visited several countries in Europe, Central and South America plus a number of cities in the United States. My favorite cities are Emaus, PA because my son lives there and Buenos Aires, Argentina

More about me

I have a full time job buying medicines and supplies for a local hospital managed for the Cancer Fighting Society (SOLCA - Initials of the full name in Spanish). I am also teaching Ecuadorian History in English for American Students They joined a special program that enables them to visit Ecuador for a number of months in order to study Spanish, get acquainted with our culture and earn credits for their current regular university studies.

Finally, after so many years of study to become an English teacher, I was given the opportunity to teach. It is the best university in town, and I am very happy there, although it means more work; leaving home before eight am and not ruturning until past 6:30pm at best.

I am currently taking a very short seminar on the Orsay Museum because I love impresionists.

 Seriously considering taking a conversation course  in French.

To add a little more "life" into this profile, I can add that I love to dance being salsa and merengue are of course my strongest points. Unfortunately in this city I live in, oldies are not expected to go dancing, so all available discos are designed for the very young with that horrible music they like, but luckily enough I found close to home tango lessons Tango has always been an unfulfilled desire,  so during the whole of 2007 I tangoed three times a week, enjoying it thoroughly. Unfortunately, since I quit my tango lessons I have forgotten most of them, but I am determined to learn again whenever I can return to Buenos Aires.

 Other hobbies are: Sudoku (my newspaper offers two of them daily); reading (Currently I am fascinated iwth a 5-volume saga written by Collen McKullogh on ancient Rome) and going to the movies,  usually on Sunday. I have many friends (schoolmates and new acquaintances) whom I meet quite often, usually in a cafe to enjoy a chat, a cup of cofee or a drink and maybe a sinful dessert. The group I enjoy most (we meet every month without fail) is very heterogeneous: we are ten, with a complete assortment of ages (ranging from mi forty to early seventy), occupations (housewives, lawyer, psyccologist, literature teacher) and even nationalities (Argentinian, Bolivian, German and Mexican) and it is surely such mixture that makes our meetings so entertaining and pleasant.

 I like very much corresponding with friends, but my time is very limited because I have intenet only in the office and my spare time is very scarce.

Although I work for a salary (because I need it), SOLCA is my favorite institution because they take care of and help many poor people.

Soft instrumentals, Tango, classic, songs from the 50's Adore ballet, dislike Opera

Dancing with the stars, CSI. Revivals of old series such as Columbus, the Saint

Favorite Movies

Comedy (as long as it is not soo silly), musicals, suspense, as long they are not exessively violent

Favorite Books

Novels, particulary if based on historical characters specific preferences: Stephan Zwieg's biographies, Erick Maria Remarque's Arch of Triumph, Sommerset Maugham's Razor's Edge

Uncomplicated, people who can speak frankly

The beach (any place near the ocean) Cities: New York, Buenos Aires, Paris, London

I am not an animal person. I like horses and dogs, but at a distance
