Places I've been

I lived most of my life in San Diego, CA. My husband was retired from the Navy. MMCSSW. We raised our first three kids there. When the cancer got too bad for him to work we sold our home there and moved to beautiful (and more affordable) Colorado. Before the cancer we often traveled and visited many states. My husband was born in Chicago, Il, so we returned there for visits from time to time. We were also blessed enough to travel to England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales on one whirlwind trip after the first cancer surgery. We were also blessed by being able to adopt two children later in our life. They have been my rocks through all of this and a reason for getting up every day.

.My husband use to say I was easily pleased and amused.  I guess I still am. I don't care much for going out, I prefer to stay home.  I don't watch much TV, but I do enjoy listening to music and getting on the computer.  I also enjoy reading and working outside.  We have 2 1/2 acres here, a big change from the postage stamp size yard we had in San Diego.  We are going to try our hand at adopting a few donkeys.........My 11 year old daughter wanted a horse, but found that she was not quite ready for an animal that size.  We visited the donkey adoption place and she seems very comfortable with them.  We have a big red barn and a loafing shed waiting for them.  There are 3 barn cats already in residence.  We also have two mostly lab dogs, the kind you buy in the parking lot of Safeway.  They are good dogs.......one loves to play, one loves to eat.  Since my husband passed away we have learned to do a lot our own.  I am getting pretty handy with power tools.  Since moving from San Diego, I find I love the change of seasons, sometimes here we can have all four seasons in one day!  I enjoy collecting solar things for my garden, and whirlygigs and windsocks.  I like to take walks and scenic drives.  I am wondering what kind of interesting people I might meet here!
