Lived in Monterey Ca. while in the Army. Resided in Az. for 4 years back in the 70's. Currently live in Grayslake Illinois. I'm a retired carpenter and volunteer at the local Veterans hospital which I truly enjoy.

I enjoy the simple things in life and believe people are more important than things and possession's. I am gentle, kind and patient to a fault. Guess I'm a bit old fashioned. Proud of it. That's the way I raised my kids and it shows. Our attitude each day is up to each of us. Attitude begins with gratitude.  I strive to think positive each and every day. To me, it's the small gestures we make to others that make a difference. A few kind words can make someone else's day. I feel very blessed for my family and friends along life's way. Always open to make a new one.

Activities

I enjoy road trips and domestic travel. Have family in Az. and would like to relocate there someday. Cold weather is not my forte. I enjoy cooking [with a friend] and watching movies. Gardening and home projects in the warmer weather are fun too. I work at a golf course in the summer so the perks there are great. A trip to the casino now and then is fun too. I have more interests, but sharing time with a friend is most important. Not so much what you're doing, but more so the quality of time spent. I like to bike ride and work out several times a week. Long walks are great!
