Happily married for 37 yrs., have 3 grown children; a son who is single and moved to Plymouth from Hawaii , a married daughter in Boston who had our first grandchild in June 2008, second in April 2010, and a married daughter in Washington, D. C.
Like designing/creating just about anything, and am an avid gardener. Loved being home to raise our children (most of the time) so being creative helped to keep me sane and busy.
Enjoy walking the trailed forest and lake behind our home. With Cape Cod Bay less than a mile away, walks on the beach to find shells & sea glass or just gazing out at the great expanse of ocean are favorite pastimes. Like biking, kayaking, snowshoeing, etc.
Love walking and biking the wonderful towns and scenic areas of New England.
For most of my adult life I've been a stay-at-home mom. As most parents eventually are, I've been 'down-sized' out of that job. I take a class or two now and then, do a bit of volunteering and can usually be found out in the garden. Spending time with my family is at the top of my favorites list, though.
Husband flew jets in the Navy for 20 yrs (was at Top Gun at Miramar), so we've lived in many places. He flew for American Airlines for about 17 yrs., retiring in '07. That retirement lasted about two seconds before he started his third career in aviation. Haven't experienced a 'stay-at-home' husband yet.
The nest is empty now. Ours have all found their wings and taken flight. For the most part, we enjoy the peace and quiet, but that period of mourning took me by surprise.
Our first grandchild arrived June 2008, number two in April 2010. I am no longer trying to get over the idea that I am old enough to be a grandmother. Somehow it just seems natural now, and I'm completely enjoying the experience,
Life never ceases to amaze.
