Born in smalltown Georgia in 1957. Moved to the West in 2000 and never looked back. Married to a good man who is sells ranch properties in AZ, NM and CO.

I have three grown children, the oldest of whom is about to make me a grandmother for the tird time. I homeschooled the youngest two (who are currently in college and in grad school), and have a total of 14 years as a homeschooling mom in addition to a couple of years of classroom teaching. Currently, we are empty nesters and I haven't made the adjustment. They all live on the other side of the country.

I have loved pottery since I was a child, but took no formal classes until my mid-thirties. Throwing is my biggest passion, but I do some handbuilding as well.

I don't call myself an artist. Making art is not my primary objective, although I think I do "create art" to an extent. What gives me the greatest joy is creating a piece of pottery that will really be a meaningful part of someone's life. A teapot, pieplate or mug that feels good in the hand, is pleasing to the eye and holds something wonderful to share with a loved one. A wall hanging, vase or ornament that reflects a piece of a person's heart; that says, "This represents who I am and what matters to me". It's that personal connection that I'm after, more than any artistic statement. Of course, the result is that an artistic statement is made. But it's not what I think about. I don't want to shock or impress with my work. I want people, a person, to see themselves in my work, to realize on some level that something I've made will bring them joy, be useful, add meaning to their lives in some small, quiet way.

Virtually anything old and classic. Love old musicals like "The Music Man". I'm pretty eclectic with movies and like a lot of different genres.

see "movies", Also, Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis as well as most of his other books, Tolkein's "Lord of the Rings", Tony Hillerman's works.
