Places I've been

I have lived in Toronto for three years during university phase of my life and loved it. Visited London and toured Europe as a chaperone for a cultural group from Jamaica. Visited most of the caribbean islands. My most favourite place in the world is Jamaica because of the laid back easy life style and the friendliness of the people. I have been to Mexico but cant tell much as I was as sick as a dog due to altitude problems. I am a graduate of the University of Toronto and am a Social Worker. I have worked in the education field almost all my life in one form or another and enjoy that very fulfilling endeavour. I think of it as a 'calling' I do a lot of creative writing as a way of recording my experiences and my own outlook on the world in general. I am active in community based programs and use dance and drama as a means of helping the young ones express themselves. I do not mind being alone but I do enjoy my friendships and my personal relationships. Men I believe are an integral part of our existence and I like the challenges they present. There is a creed I try to live by and that is- 'Each day commit random acts of kindness and deliberate acts of love'

I am a friendly and caring person.  I am an extrovert and very adventurous. I like trying new things and like to explore new places.  I  am family oriented and my beliefs are based on christianity but I am an open minded person who likes to embrace and understand another point of view,lifestyle or culture.

I was born in Jamaica and grew up there until my 20's.  I am a widow with two grown kids but not yet a grandmother.

I like most forms of sports.

I am very comfortable with myself and don't mind being on my own as I have been told I am too independent.

I love the beach, taking long easy walks and maybe its cliche but I also love sunsets.  I wish I could paint but can't draw even a stickman that looks like one.

I love to read biographies and fictions especially who dun its.

I am a bit crazy but I enjoy t.v. but my taste varies season by season. They did say 30 secs so ......

Activities

GOING TO THE BEACH, HIKING, READING. EXPLORING NEW PLACES AND LEARNING NEW THINGS. WRITING IS A PASSION ALTHOUGH I HAVE WRITTEN LOADS AND LOADS OF STUFF, CANT FIND THE TIME TO SORT AND GET PUBLISHED AGAIN. I ENJOY WALKING AS IT MY WAY TO EXERCISE AND I PREFER DOING THAT ON THE BEACH OR TO A POINT I CAN WATCH A BEAUTIFUL SUNSET. I AM A DRAMA FANATIC SO I LOVE TO WATCH PLAYS AND HELP PRODUCE THEM WITH KIDS. I ENJOY HELPING THE YOUNG ONES FINDTHEIR VOICE THROUGH DANCE AND DRAMA. I LOVE TO SING BUT MY VOICE BELONGS WITH ME IN A SHOWER OR MASKED IN THE CHOIR. MOST OF ALL I LOVE TO MEET AND TALK WITH PEOPLE OF ALL CATEGORIES BECAUSE IT MAKES LIFE SO MUCH RICHER. I LOVE COUNSELLING AND I DO THAT WITH MY RELIGIOUS ORGANISATION FOR WOMEN IN CRISIS AND TEENS AT RISK.
