I haved lived in the Ozarks, in both Arkansas and Missouri since 1970. I have traveled from one end to the other of Interstates 40,44,70,35,55,45,49 29,80,82, 90 and bits and pieces of the rest.

More about me

Since 1992 I have been an over the road truck driver and a school teacher the 15 years before that.  My primary interest has been  time with my children but they are now young adults and must move into a more independent kind of life.  I have looked for other things to fill my spare time with and have become a backyard bird watcher and am fascinated I find that interesting. I emphasize that I am a bird watcher, not a birder, I understand that there is a difference. I also try to take pictures of the birds that come to my feeders and that I may come across in my travels.  I am not a photographer, I am a picture taker.  I point the camera and shoot, no skill involved, if I get anything neat, good or interesting, it is only serendipitous luck and nothing else.  I say this because I have posted some of my pics that I personally like and would like to share them with you and present them only as someone would of their vacation.  They do not represent art or any academic pursuit, only my enjoyment.  I hope you enjoy them also. If I have identified any of my subjects incorrectly, I gratefully accept the corrections of those more learned than I.

 I have joined Eons to enjoy the thoughts, ideas and talents of the other members.  I am not here to utilize the website as a dating site, nor am I seeking a relationship.  I do enjoy the ongoing correspondences that I have maintained with a number of Eons friends, and have been enriched by these associations.  My nature is to be frank and my sense of humor is irreverent and iornic (some would say moronic),  as a result, I frequently am off putting and I apologize for my ineptness in advance.

Most anything done well and that has the usual components of Western Music, (melody, harmony, rhythm, etc)My taste are pretty ecletic, I can't listen to the same thing all the time, I like my XM Radio for just that reason, so much variety.

Favorite TV Shows

NCIS, The Mentalist, the Big Bang Theory, The Stargate Programs, and I like the Star Trek programs so much you could write Star Trek on a shoe box and I would watch it for at least 5 minutes. I am NOT a Trekkie!!!

Favorite Movies

The Majestic, Famly Man, everything Mel Brooks was associated with, Sea Biscuit, the latest Star Trek movie was great, and by way, I am not a trekkie. I have to say that I am more and more impressed by Jim Carrey. I would like to see him do Jimmy Stewart's role in "Harvey" and Cary Grant's role in "Arsenic and Old Lace".

The Jan Karon series that began with At Home in Mitford. Works of CS Lewis, particularly Mere Christianity, Tony Hillerman's Joe Leaphorn/Jim Chee mysteries. Joseph Ellis's Founding Brothers and His Excellency George Washington
