More about me

Not so new at EON, not so new at life. Hoping for the time to figure out everything I think I need to know. Hoping for the wisdom to use what I learn , share what I can, and just enjoy the journey.

I live in the desert, southwest. Beautiful in its' own special, unique way, and ever changing .  However, my soul and heart pull me to the ocean. I love the song, Time for a Cool Change, and the music of Jimmy Buffett.  I got my first tatoo in Key West. A dolphin, jumping in Capricorn waves . It is on my ankle. Just being by the water, beach, the ocean, is an elixir for the mind, body and soul.   Water is great. I love the mountains too. High altitude, low stress . I like using the metal detector. Treasures are everywhere.  Just enjoy the hunt.   I enjoy hiking in the pines, walking on the beach. Hearing the  sound of the wind thru the pine trees, and the sounds of the ocean. I like to take pictures. Old churches, wildlife (that is still ), family and bridges and friends and just most of what you see thru a lens is going to make a great picture.  When the memory is not quite so vivid, you have pictures to bring you back.  Funny how memories are  remembered and retold differently by those involved. Same scenario, different stories from each as they recount it. :)

Memories are so much more precious as we grow older. So remember yours' and enjoy and share them with others, especially the young. That way they can be remembered and retold , and your spirit and essence will always be a part of the coming generations. The Native American people strongly believe in passing down the history and ways of the people. Be part of your own history. Share stories and memories.

This picture is for me. Saying goodbye to my brother Teddy. He went into the light. Oct.1 1953- July 10,2007. He is loved and missed . “For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And what is it to cease breathing but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?” Kahlil Gibran

Be not the slave of your own past. Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old. Ralph Waldo Emerson

Photobucket Oh, Great Spirit Whose voice I hear in the winds, And whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me, I am small and weak, I need your strength and wisdom. Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset. Make my hands respect the things you have made and my ears sharp to hear your voice. Make me wise so that I may understand the things you have taught my people. Let me learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock. I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy - myself. Make me always ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes. So when life fades, as the fading sunset, my Spirit may come to you without shame.

Chiricahua - Monoliths & Trees Pictures, Images and Photos And for a disciple thus freed, in whose heart dwells peace, there is nothing to be added to what has been done, and naught more remains for him to do. Just as a rock of one solid mass remains unshaken by the wind, even so, neither forms, nor sounds, nor odors, nor tastes, nor contacts of any kind, neither the desired, nor the undesired, can cause such an one to waver. Steadfast is his mind, gained is deliverance.

Capricorn: December 22—January 19 Capricorn’s form of half goat, half fish derives from ancient Babylonian mythology, in which Ea, the Sea-Goat and Lord of Wisdom, emerges from his home in the sea to bring civilization and knowledge to mankind. In the zodiac, the placement of the constellation represents high achievement. Steady, purposeful, and long-sighted, Capricorns have a plan for the future and set their sights high. They seek security and certainty, and insist that rules be followed. But don’t let that fool you into thinking Capricorns are all work and no play: they have a lively wit, a dry sense of humor, and that rare combination, creativity coupled with organization! Tetons, Snake River....my brother loved it here and in Yellowstone. The pic of my bro " Bear" in favs shows him at base of Tetons. Taking him back there summer of 2009 . My brother Ted is home and at rest in the mountains he loved. The trip was bittersweet. PhotobucketI went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. Photobucket I sat upon a promontory, And heard a mermaid, on a dolphin's back, Uttering such dulcet and harmonious breath, That the rude sea grew civil at her song; And certain stars shot madly from their spheres, To hear the sea-maid's music. - William Shakespeare

There is a road in the hearts of all of us, hidden and seldom traveled, which leads to an unkown, secret place. The old people came literally to love the soil, and they sat or reclined on the ground with a feeling of being close to a mothering power. Their teepees were built upon the earth and their altars were made of earth. The soul was soothing, strengthening, cleansing and healing. That is why the old Indian still sits upon the earth instead of propping himself up and away from its life giving forces. For him, to sit or lie upon the ground is to be able to think more deeply and to feel more keenly. He can see more clearly into the mysteries of life and come closer in kinship to other lives about him. Chief Luther Standing Bear Photobucket

Travel light in spirit and light in baggage. Dance in the woods , your spirit free and wild. Take in all the beauty of your world, let light from within light your way . Gypsy in carriageEach of us has the right and the responsibility to asses the road which lie ahead and those over which we have traveled, and if the feature road looms ominous or unpromising, and the road back uninviting-inviting, then we need to gather our resolve and carrying only the necessary baggage, step off that road into another direction. If the new choice is also unpalatable, without embarrassment, we must be ready to change that one as well. -- Maya Angelou

A place outside of a place, a time outside time, the world that we travel in dreams and meditation is as real as this one is. Real is all in perception, and you can affect change in yourself from this place of meditation as you can in the physical world. Sometimes the journey within is just as important as the journey without. In this place, this traveler has created a world in her mind's eye. We see pieces of earth free floating and unconnected to each other. A sacred spring wells up at the feet of a goddess figure. The tree of life appears before her with the light of truth shining from behind. Paths float, and can be chosen, or not. The traveler passes along, deep in meditation, a light scarf serving as a connection between the worlds. This is a place of safety and introspection. White doves pass far off in the distance, spiritual guides, there to assist if called upon.

O, for a draught of vintage! that hath been Cooled a long age in the deep-delved earth, Tasting of Flora and the country green, Dance, and Proven c° al song, and sunburnt mirth! O for a beaker full of the warm South, Full of the true, the blushful Hippocrene, With beaded bubbles winking at the brim, And purple-stained mouth; That I might drink, and leave the world unseen, And with thee fade away into the forest dim. running with the wind Pictures, Images and Photos "Those who belong to this small class have tasted how sweet and blessed a posession philosophy is, and have also seen enough of the madness of the multitude; and they know that no politician is honest, nor is there any champion of justice at whose side they may fight and be saved. Such an one may be compared to a man who has fallen among wild beasts-- he will not join in the wickedness of his fellows, but neither is he able singly to resist all their fierce natures, and therefore seeing that he would be of no use to the State or to his friends, and reflecting that he would have to throw away his life without doing any good either to himself or others, he holds his peace, and goes his own way. He is like one who, in the storm of dust and sleet which the driving wind hurries along, retires under the shelter of a wall; and seeing the rest of mankind full of wickedness, he is content, if only he can live his own life and be pure from evil or unrighteousness, and depart in peace and good-will, with bright hopes." STAND INSIDE THE RAINBOW Fear holds us to ransom And it bears a heavy cost It causes isolation And then we feel quite lost It’s in the grip of worry That darkness can unfold It feeds on desperation And puts our life on hold Take the gift of love And wrap it up in pink The colour of compassion Is deeper than you think Take the gift of healing And wrap it up in blue The colour of serenity A chance to start anew Take the gift of peace And wrap it up in white A symbol of perfection Seen in a flash of light Take the gift of faith And wrap it up in gold A treasure that lies within That can’t be bought or sold Take the gift of life And wrap it up in red Stretching into eternity With all that’s thought and said Stand inside the rainbow When all around is pain The healing rays of colour Refracted in the rain . by L .
