I'm a writer, jumping into a new genre. Until now I've written nonfiction, mostly feature articles. I'm starting a novel, and have no idea who these people are who have begun to inhabit my brain, insisting that their story be told.

I'm a 4th generation Okie who spent most of her adult years in Michigan, but moved back after my husband died. My kids still live in Michigan, and I have a cottage there that I retreat to when the summers get too intensely warm.

I learned to sail on the Great Lakes, and still am an avid racer, even if the biggest lake is the local reservoir.

I've been lucky enough to travel all over the world, and, at the same time, have roots deep in my native soil.
