Places I've been

I've spent the majority of my life in California. We lived a brief time in Ohio while my father was in the Air Force. He was from Ohio and his family still resides there. In 1996, my Mother and I went to Japan to visit her sister. This was my 1st trip back to Japan since our arrival to the U.S. in December 1952. It was exciting to see where I was born. We went to visit the hospital where I was born but just two weeks before we arrived, the old hospital had been demolished. All that remained was a pile of rubble :~( Vacations include trips to Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, West Virginia with a day trip to Washington DC, Cocoa Beach, Florida (a day at Cape Canaveral - now the Kennedy Space Center), Las Vegas, San Francisco, Monterey, Lake Tahoe and in 2006 to New Orleans to visit my dear friend Tracie and her Mom.

About me???? Hmmm, what can I say . . . . I married at 18, divorced at 26, no children and never remarried.  My niece, who used to be like a daughter to me - some of you know this story, has children who are my "psuedo" grand kids.  I have a 2 yr. old Shih Tzu, Miss Charlotte, who is my adorable little baby.

I love movies, smooth jazz, crafts, quilting, laughing & having fun, doing a little gardening when it's not too hot - helps me to clear my mind - sitting on my patio listening to the wind chimes and watching Miss Charlotte romp in the yard.  I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.

I am a breast cancer survivor - 5 years as of March 2008.  I belong to a on-line support group where I have made some great friends.  We try to get together once a year for several days for "girlie fun".
