I was glad to find this site, to make new friends that I have so much in common with..age, things we grew up with - music, cool clothes, awesome cars, etc. Ah, for the good old days!
I'm a southern girl, came of age in the 70's... happily married, honest, sincere, loyal, believe in standing up for what I feel is right, and I really do weigh all sides of everything. Thank goodness for a sense of humor, if I didn't have one I'd already have lost my sanity!! Every person deserves repect. I care for people for who they are on the inside, not by the cover of their book, as looks are only skin deep.
I love all the grandkids but can only take 'em one at a time. I put an effort now into making my life more relaxing than chaotic, and what a welcome relief since my nerves are totally shot - I worry too much and try to avoid conflict, that's just how I am. I've made my share of mistakes, but I try not to dwell on them as regrets.
I love music, books, cooking indoors and out, reading, watch a little tv, do some trivia, follow some local high school and college football, (come on Tigers!), follow Nascar - we have a local 1/2 mile Nascar sanctioned short track here, the Greenville / Pickens Speedway (and no, it's not just one big left turn! It's the track banking, the temperature, who's on the pole, who's in the points lead...and yes, the wrecks and conflicts make it fun, and luckily no one gets hurt much nowadays with all the safety features), and the outdoors where it's quiet and peaceful (nature is awesome!).
Music and lyrics are a big part of life, they can completely change or enhance a mood, depending on what you need them to do. Songs pop into my head through every aspect of life for some reason. Southern blues are the best, they reach deep into the soul. My husband has played guitar his whole life, so we love our old faithful tunes and are open minded to all music that's new to us; but, rap, punk and heavy metal make me cringe....
I refuse to let my health problems consume my life, time goes by too fast to let that happen. I've always been into making things - it's really therapeutic to create with your hands, so whatever came around, I've probably tried it (it all started with macrame, ceramics and needlepoint in the 70's) but that part of my creativity is down to zero, I guess now it's more like been there, done that.
I dislike commercialism and sensationalism, being bombarded from every direction with what to buy, how to look, how to act - it's gotten way out of hand. I know who I am, thank you very much! So much for the basics, here's hoping to get to know you.

The blues are the best. Once you've heard it, nothing else sounds the same, but it takes many kinds to round it all out for different moods... I like The Allman Brothers; Warren Haynes; Stevie Ray Vaughn; Robert Cray; Paul Rodgers; Joe Cocker; Leon Russell; Emmylou Harris; Bonnie Raitt; Janis Joplin; Natalie Merchant; Little River Band; Little Feat; Creedence; Tom Petty; E.C.; Hendrix; Dylan; Pink Floyd; Van Morrison; Norah Jones; Motown; Sade; 60's and 70's music; classic rock; southern rock/blues. Ok, sorry - I could go on and on, so I'll stop here.
