Places I've been

I've spent time in many places but I reckon the longest I was anywhere was the 30 years I spent in Alaska. I squandered my teen years in California, until I went into the service. When I left Alaska I came south and spent one year in Florida, then to southwest Georgia. Before going to California I went to school in Colorado (Denver). My Dad was somewhat of a nomad and I reckon I inherited some of his traits. I am fortunate in that I can be comfortable almost anywhere I am.

More about me

      I am a simple man of simple tastes. More than any thing else I enjoy doing things with my lovely wife Myra. Between the two of us we are subject to get into any number of projects. She and I are in the finishing stages of a brand new deck on our home.

      Among my many interests are aviation, music, ham radio of course, baseball, and grandkids (between us we have a raft of them)

      I am the victim of two bad marriages but I think this one will work.

      I am not given to unnecessary conversation, I say what needs to be said then shut up and listen. My father told me  when I was young, that I would learn more with my mouth shut than with it open. I've learned to believe in that idea.

      I don't make friends quickly, but the friends I do make are lasting and I am loyal to those friends. I have paid dearly, in the past, for trusting in people that I thought were friends, so I am not quick to trust.

      I am a christian person as is my wife. While I fall short of being what I believe I should be I keep trying.

      I have survived cancer now for about four years. I work at two jobs, both in aviation and I don't reckon I will ever fullly retire.

Activities

I love to fly. I am a licensed pilot, airplane single engine land and sea. Unfortunately the opportunities are limited of late as I no longer own an airplane and the cost of fuel made aircaft rental to costly.

American Red Cross. Damon Runyon Cancer Fund, any veterans organization

Favorite Music

Country, older classic country.

Favorite TV Shows

I like watching documentaries on the History channel, the Science channel and such as that. Best of all I guess I like watching "Cops" on Court TV. Network TV just doesn't show me much. Maybe I'm not simple minded enough.

Favorite Movies

Doctor Zhivago is my all time favorite movie. A movie call "The Third Man" is my second favorite. The music in either film gives me "goose bumps"
