More about me

The eldest of 8 kids, my mom had me at a very early age.  Subsequently at 18 months I was given to my great aunt and uncle who raised me.  I didn’t find out about my birth mom, or that I had sisters and brothers until I was 10.

I really loved my two Moms.  I know that I've been truly blessed to be love in return by two very remarkably strong and courageous women.

Both my Moms have passed on; my Mom, who gave me life passed away on February 21, 2009 due to complications caused by diabetes.

With the exception of my youngest sister who lives in Florida, and the third oldest sister who passed away in November of 2006, my siblings all live in various sections of New York.

Our son is a U.S. Marine. He’s already done a tour in Iraq and earlier this year returned stateside from a deployment in Japan.  

Married a year, my son recently informed us that after weighting the pros and cons, he's decided not to re-up.  He should be getting out sometime in Febrary or March, 2010.

My husband and I celebrated 34 years of marriage in September.  He's taken to retirement better than I could even imagine.  I'm still looking for a job, but I have to admit I enjoy being home with him.  In between taking the grandkids to school, to football practice, to cheerleading practice, helping with homework, etc. We're having fun exploring Columbus and finding new places to go.

We celebrate our one year anniversary as Ohioians, Dec. 4th.
