More about me

I'm a native Californian now living in Louisville, Kentucky. I moved here three years ago to look after my elderly mother and aunt. My aunt passed away March 26, 2008. My plan was to move back to California with my mother, but she is now too frail to make the trip. Louisville is a beautiful city of around one million people with cultural and educational opportunities you'd only expect to find in Los Angeles or New York.

Believe it or not, I love L.A., as the song goes. I lived there for 36 years and taught learning disabled students in the public schools. I can never get enough of the Southern California sunshine. However, I also love Louisville now so I might have to become a snowbird. 

I've been divorced for 15 years and was married for 26 years. I got married three days out of high school. I have three children and five grandchildren. 

I came out of the womb loving animals. Four dogs, Jessie, an energetic golden retriever, Jasper, a lovable hyper Parson's Jack Russell, Jo Jo a black poodle, and Toby a jack russell chihuahua mix, and a black cat named Shiloh share my home. I had a pet sitting business in L.A. which did quite well. Since moving to Louisville, I've been volunteering for the Kentucky Humane Society. 

I have all kinds of hobbies. I love to paint portraits, make pottery, write, remodel, knit, crochet, etc. I love to learn. I've been doing it all my life.
