Palatine IL, Hanover Park IL, Waukegan IL, Kenosha WI, EauClaire WI, Grantsburg WI, Minneapolis MN, Brooklyn Park MN, Brooklyn Center MN,Duluth MN, Grand Marais MN, Meridian MS, and Tampa Florida! My journeys to these places and living within their various communities have been an interesting journey of self discovery as well as discovery of many types of people and communities. I grew up in a Jewish community in the 1950's and new Gefelte fish before I ever tasted Collard greens. The richness of that community offered my brother and myself such a cocoon of love. Everyone knew us, and everyone was our "parent" which was wonderful, since we were sometimes the only black family within blocks. I learned about true friendships between women, men and children. I miss those days, but they are part of me forever.

Uh-Oh..I can never fit them all in this little space but as a child, I loved "Hitty, Her First 100 Years), James Baldwin's "The Fire Next Time" and "Another Country", anything John Grisham and anything vintage that I can find in a dark, musty bookstore just as they call out, "But lady, we have to close now". I LOVE books and words and phrases and the smell and taste of books!
