Places I've been

Texas is where I was born and where I'll die. I've lived in Dallas, Ennis, Corsicana, Carthage, Mt. Pleasant, Forney, and Katy. My family is from Lancaster and Wilmer. My husband's family is from Bristol and Italy. My favorite places are Katy, where I live, teach, and watch my son play football, and our house in Sargent, on the Texas gulf coast. It's on Caney Creek that runs into the Gulf. We love the Florida Keys - Key Largo (Largo Lodge!), Islamarada; Marina Cay in the British Virgin Islands; Fish tacos on Saba Rock. The Baths and Copper Mine on Virgin Gorda. I travelled to Europe after high school - London, Paris, Rome, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Belgium. London was my favorite. I lived in California for a couple of years when I was in primary school - Corte Madera, Marin County. But we came right back to Texas as quick as we could, and I've been here ever since!

More about me

My husband and I were high school sweethearts, we have  3 daughters and 1 son, 2 sons-in-law, and a new grandson! I love being a mom, and now a grandma. 

I recently went back to college, earned my degree, and now I'm teaching 1st grade!  I'm the happiest I've ever been - both personally and professionally. 

I've recently discovered a new interest in photography.  I wish I could put on canvas the beauty I see in the world.  My school will be bilingual next year, so I want to learn Spanish.  I like to travel, but I love coming home.  I've always wanted to be a writer, but I don't know what to write about or where to begin.  I love music, I play the flute and guitar, but I've always wanted a piano to learn to play.

Activities

Collecting sea shells, snorkeling/scuba, saltwater fishing, watching and photographing coastal birds, reading, cooking, watching my son play football and my husband coaching him, playing with my grandson, being a teacher

My husband because he's always dreaming about doing something new. Life is never boring with him! My children, my sons-in-law and "almost" son-in-law, and my grandson because they're just so much damned fun! My principal and all the teachers I work with at BCE. Al Gore and Hillary Clinton because they do what they believe in, regardless of what other people say about them
